Weak and unstable leadership

Tory PosterWe are facing a lull before the storm; Parliament has just gone into recess and due to the County Council and Mayoral elections today there is a UK political news blackout. However there is still plenty of political news on Facebook and other social media platforms. The Daily Torygraph is publicising a video of Theresa May standing in front of No 10 Downing Street with a grim look on her face saying “Britain’s negotiating position in Europe has been misrepresented in the continental press, The European Commission’s negogiating stance has hardened, Threats against Britain have been issued by European Politicians and Officials, All of these acts have been deliberately time to affect the result of the general election which will take place on the 8th June”

The idea that our nation will be safer if we vote for the same party that decided that now would be a good time for a general election, literally weeks after they were dragged kicking and screaming to bring their Brexit plans before the rest of Parliament is clearly nonsense. Parliament is supposed to be a sovereign body according to these same people yet its decision to select a fixed term Parliament has been overturned by the same party that has done more U turns on their treatment of EU nationals than a performing dog at a circus. If the PM who said she would not call a snap election 9 times in 9 months is expecting us to believe that there is a conspiracy between the European Commission which she is still a member of and the press of continental Europe simply to disturb our general election then she is living in a different world to the rest of us. Unless of course the conspiracy between the press and the Commission is something that has been going on for the years that her old boss, Cameron and latterly herself have been part of and they have both failed to acknowledge until now when it suits her purposes!
