A broad stab at a salary

dex-150x150The Government Department for Exiting the EU has just advertised for the Head of Communication for the department, which the job description states “As the most senior Communications professional within the Department, the Head of Communications will be responsible for leading the full breadth of the communication function to support the delivery of the Government’s agenda, with teams covering media relations, digital communications, visits & events, internal communications and departmental correspondence.” This is clearly an important role and one that the Department will need to appoint well, as we are around 4 months away from the enaction of Article 50. The role is a 2 year fixed contract position but what is memorable is the salary range which could range from £64,000 to £117,800. This makes me wonder if the department really knows who or what they are looking for. If they are applying this level of precision to the other elements of their work, we are in for an exciting time as we leave the EU!
