Can you hear ringing?

Website%20Campaign%20HeaderThis week is known as Tinnitus Awareness Week and despite all that is going on in the heady world of Party Politics, information, ideas and declarations, we know that long after those promises have been broken and forgotten, that men and women who suffer from what in Latin would be called ringing in the ears, will continue to be impacted by sounds that apparently have no source and cannot be switched off. It is estimated that around 10% of the population are affected by Tinnitus and about 1% of the adult Population feel it affects the quality of their lives. If you want to know more about Tinnitus or follow what is happening this week, the British Tinnitus Association have a website here and can be followed on twitter @BritishTinnitus

Tinnitus is not news and even with Tinnitus Awareness Week taking place, it is unlikely to replace David Cameron or Ed Miliband in the news cycle. Yet if all of us understood a bit more about the need to protect our hearing, we might have a healthier population, so it is Political issue after all!
